Quarry sand (forest)

Construction sand is an important component for performing various construction and repair work.

The main characteristics of sand:

Fraction size: from 0.1 to 5 mm.
Origin: natural or artificial (obtained by crushing rocks).
Mining method: river, marine, quarry.
River sand is famous for its purity and low content of impurities, which makes it an excellent choice for the production of concrete and mortars.

Quarry sand containing more impurities requires additional processing: it is washed, dried and sorted into fractions. There are two main types of quarry sand processing:

Washed: cleaned with water to remove clay and dust.
Seeded: sifted through a sieve to remove large particles.
Artificial sand is produced by crushing rocks such as marble, granite, limestone or slag. It is used in plaster mixes to create relief surfaces and as part of dry building mixes.
