A gravel-sand mixture is a building material that is used in the construction of houses, landscaping of household plots, and road construction. Based on the name, it can be determined that the composition of such a mixture contains two components – gravel and sand, which are contained in this mixture in equal proportions. GPS is mined in quarries and at the bottom of reservoirs. Natural and enriched gravel-sand mixtures can be distinguished.

Enriched GPS. The enriched mixture should be familiar to any experienced developer, because it is mainly used in construction work. Mineral mixtures are necessarily present in the composition of enriched GPS, which increase its technical parameters and cost.
Natural GPS. Natural mixtures are more often used for the construction of roads, sports grounds, and for tamping under the garage area. The main advantage of the natural mixture is the presence of several standards. For example, only crushed stone can be used in five fractions. It turns out that the natural mixture is much more economical.
Depending on the conditions of formation, sand-gravel mixtures (SGS) are divided into lake-river, marine and mountain-ravine. The lake-river mixture contains grains of a more rounded shape, and its granularity is homogeneous. However, it often turns out to be heavily contaminated with organic impurities. As for marine gravel-sand mixtures, they are characterized by rounded grains and the presence of fine-grained fractions. Remnants of the parent rock are always present in the mountain-ravine mixtures. They also differ in the sharp-angled shape of grains of various sizes.

GPS is an environmentally friendly material. It is also durable and resistant to negative temperatures. It is the use of large fractions of crushed stone that makes it possible to achieve such indicators. By the way, depending on the field of use, the content and proportions of gravel and sand in the mixture may vary (GPS, PGS).

Sand-gravel mixtures are durable and perfectly retain their properties during long-term storage. Even after a very long time, this material can be safely used, as it does not lose its qualities over time. You don't even have to think about the need to remove the remnants after the completion of the main construction work.
