Our clients are the largest developers, as well as municipal and commercial enterprises engaged in the construction of facilities and structures, landscaping, and using gravel to implement their projects. We also cooperate with private contractors who need wholesale supplies of gravel.
Gravel is a loose building material resulting from the natural destruction of hard rock and consisting of rounded grains with a smooth or rough surface. Like sand, gravel is divided into types: mountain gravel (granite), river gravel (marine) and artificial gravel.
Mountain gravel. Granite or rock gravel, which is extracted from granite rock, differs sharply from river and sea gravel. Rock gravel has a rough surface and it has a high percentage of impurities (clay, sand, dust, organic matter), which in principle contributes to better adhesion to the solution. The color of mountain gravel varies from white to black, and its shape is irregular and rounded. Granite gravel, because of its rough surface, is most often used to fill heavy concrete, and is also used in the construction or repair of highways.
River gravel. River or sea gravel is extracted from the bottom of reservoirs of rivers and the sea. Such gravel is cleaner than mountain gravel, but has a smoother surface. Its grains have the smoothest surface, ranging in size from 5 to 70 mm. During the extraction of river or marine gravel, it is recycled and transported from the bottom of rivers, lakes and seas through pipes to landfills where they naturally dewatered. Sea and river gravel are used to fill a certain type of concrete. River gravel is cheaper than granite, it fits easily during landscaping; it is used as a filler for filtration systems of wells and other sources of clean water. Very often, river or sea gravel is used for thermal and sound insulation backfills.
Artificial gravel. Expanded clay (artificial) gravel is made from dark brown clay. According to the size of the fractions, it is divided into expanded clay gravel and expanded clay sand. It is most often used in road construction and landscaping, due to the fact that it fits quickly and its price is not very high.
