Characteristics of technical salt
Technical salt is an affordable and inexpensive mineral product based on sodium chloride. The grade of halite depends on the content of impurities in it and is divided into higher, first, and second. The advantages of the material include:

environmentally friendly and safe for humans, approved for indoor and outdoor use;
preservation of natural properties at low temperature;
easy to use, without special equipment;
resistant to direct UV rays, does not explode, does not burn, does not emit harmful gases;

The field of halite application

Excellent operational parameters and low cost of halite make it possible to use it as an anti-icer for road surfaces. The highest and first grade of technical salt are highly effective and are used for melting snow and ice. The scope of halite application includes:

thermal power facilities for scale reduction in boilers and pipes;
production of polymers, plastics, rubber, glass, paper, porcelain and earthenware;
for processing fur and leather goods;
In medicine and the food industry, it is used as a natural antiseptic and preservative.;
In construction— it is used for the production of silicate bricks, setting and shrinkage of cement.
To calculate the amount of salt required for sprinkling roads, the formula should be used: 3-150 g of halite per 1 m2 of treated surface. The low cost of the product eliminates other alternatives and helps to expand the scope of application.

According to the granulometric composition, halite is classified into 5 types of grinding:

grinding 1 (A) grain size 1.2 — 2.5 mm;
grinding 2 (B) granule size 2.5 — 4.5 mm;
grinding 3 (C) granule size from 4.5 mm;
grinding 4 (B) salt chips up to 20 mm;
grinding of 5 (E) salt blocks with granules up to 40 mm.
Depending on the deposit and the method of production, the product is classified into types:

Kamennaya is an environmentally friendly product that is mined from a great depth;
samosadochnaya or halite is extracted from a saline solution by evaporation;
quarry — natural deposits in quarries, minimal content of impurities, used to combat ice;
Tableted is an extra-class product, obtained by vacuum evaporation and pressure pressing, the amount of sodium chloride is 99.7%.
